Building A Healthy Church

Churches don't become healthy by accident any more than you can keep your body healthy by eating junk food and abusing your physical health. We must intentionally strive to become healthy, reproducing congregations, where new believers and established disciples can find a place to grow, serve and share.

Is your church healthy? How can we know? What indicators are available to determine if my church has poor health or great strength? And, what will help me to improve in the areas of my greatest weakness?

Buncombe Baptist Association is pleased to offer the Church Health SurveyR  from Church Central Associates.  We have several licensed Church Health Consultants available to help your church discover and fulfill its potential in the Kingdom of God.  The program is designed to offer mentoring, consulting and training, beginning with a Church Health Survey.

The survey measures the health of a church based on six purposes of the church found in Acts 2:42 – 47:
  • Prayer
  • Evangelism
  • Ministry
  • Discipleship
  • Fellowship
  • Worship
A detailed report on the health of the church, area demographics, assessment of building/property, and recommendations from the consultant are provided as part of the package.  For supporting churches within Buncombe Association the CHS process is available for $200.  For others the ministry is available on a contractual basis.  Call our office for details.
