Prayer Binds Us Together

When we look at the October calendar we quickly see the week of October 17th is a special “Week Of Prayer” for Baptist Associations. This is a week when Baptist churches come together in prayer. There is a great source of strength when we join forces in prayer. Corporate prayer is an important part of the life of the association. It opens our heart to the needs of others. When groups of people gather to pray, God moves to meet new ministry needs and revitalize our churches. A strong association needs healthy churches so we can partner together in valuable projects and carry on the vital work of sharing the gospel. We know there is something very powerful when we come together in prayer and we are encouraged as part of a larger group. Prayer has the power to transform the churches in our association. So, let’s pray as a group and expect God to show up in a big way! Thank God for the privilege of prayer. We need to devote ourselves to prayer and make it a greater priority. We realize prayer is an incredible gift and we use that gift so we can have a stronger relationship with God. Let me encourage us to come together as the Buncombe Baptist Association with one focus of corporate prayer during this special “Week Of Prayer” for Baptist associations.

Acts 2:42- They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
