Spiritual Fitness

The world places so much value on your physical, mental and emotional health. But what about your spiritual health? Are you fit? Have you been exercising your prayer muscles? Are you committed to a particular training regimen? Do you have clear goals? Have you seen results?

We are, right now, in the midst of a week of prayer for Baptist Associations.  Seven days of faithful, fervent, committed, corporate prayer should yield astonishing results! Following Christ’s ascension recorded at the beginning of Acts, believers gathered for “constant” prayer for 10 days. Following that period of prayer, the Spirit of God came upon them (Acts 2:4), permitted them to speak in languages they did not previously know (Acts 2:8) & thousands heard and received the Gospel message (Acts 2:41).

As you consider spiritual fitness goals, acknowledge that the Spirit of the living God is at work within you (Acts 1:8).  Harness that power as you exercise your prayer muscles on behalf of Baptist Associations.  Pray that we would emulate the church in Acts! Pray that we would stand firmly on the truth of God’s Word. Pray that we would lovingly proclaim the message of Christ, that we would be empowered to share it with all peoples and that hearts and lives would change as a result. And, as you see God at work around you, praise!
